Social entrepreneur Jeremy, author of The Energy of Nations, The Carbon War and Half Gone, is founder and non-executive chairman of Solarcentury and founder and chairman of SolarAid, an African solar lighting charity set up with Solarcentury profits. Described by the Observer as "Britain’s most respected green energy boss," he writes and blogs for the Guardian, the Financial Times, and Sublime Magazine. He was the first Hillary Laureate for International Leadership on Climate Change, a CNN Principal Voice, and Entrepreneur of the Year at the New Energy Awards. He is on the associate faculties, lecturing in business and environment, at the universities of Oxford, Cambridge and St Gallen.
Before Apricum, Mr. Dobrott spent 15 years in leadership positions in the consulting and energy fields. He worked intensively with top organizations to design and carry out business strategies. He started his career in Arthur D. Little as a management consultant focused on chemicals and energy. He then led Corporate Development and M&A at Evonik Rütgers, and later became Director Renewable Energies and Resources at Invest in Germany.
With Apricum he has laid out the solar technology strategy for a Middle East country, contributed to the development of the solar industry in emerging countries and helped a wide range of organizations and governments bring forward growth opportunities in Cleantech.
Mr. Dobrott has expertise in photovoltaics, bioenergy and renewable energy as well as corporate finance and strategic business development for companies, countries and regions. He adds exhaustive understanding of energy markets, economic growth and value chains.
Mr. Dobrott holds a Master in Business Administration and Chemical Engineering at the
Technische Universität Berlin.
Tamer Shahin is the Solar Technology Engineer at the Technology Application and Advancement Group (TAAG) in KAUST where he currently is responsible for solar technologies development, deployment and evaluation in collaboration with industry partners. Tamer manages the New Energy Oasis (NEO) at KAUST, an outdoor testing and development area for solar and clean energy technologies. Prior to KAUST, Tamer worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at the New Energy Center in National Taiwan University, designing solar thermoelectric collectors and innovative LED lighting fixtures. Tamer holds a BS in Mechatronics Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, and a MS in Mechanical Engineering in Design, Dynamics, and Control, from KAUST with emphasis on solar technologies.
Fred has received his doctor degree in Materials Science Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley in 1992. Over the last 20 years, he has taken several challenging positions in product development, marketing and business development in various industries - Nuclear Energy, Semiconductor and Photovoltaics.
At his current job, Fred has led a multi-national engineering team to develop an intelligent monitoring solution for soiling impact and module degradation for PV panels of mega solar farm projects.
Pietro Gintoli, 45 years old, Master degree in mechanical engineering (specialization in “energy”), at Bologna University, is currently employed at Bonfiglioli Riduttori SpA with the role of Country Manager Italy and Business Development Manager for SEMEA (South Europe, Middle East and Africa).
In his position Pietro Gintoli is leading the Italian subsidiary of Bonfiglioli for the Business Unit Renewable and Photovoltaic Solutions, and responsible to develop market and accounts inside SEMEA area.

Karim Asali started working in renewables in 1987 focusing on CSP plants in US. He later joined ABB for ten years in oil and gas and power plants design. Since 2000, he shifted his focus to develop PV business in Europe and MENA Region. He worked at Kyocera Solar in system sales , Sharp Solar in product marketing and First Solar in Business/Project development focusing on MENA. He joined Dii as Director Project Enabling end of 2012
Dr. Nabih Cherradi is Desert Technologies’ Chief Technology Officer and VP for Manufacturing. Prior to joining Desert Technologies, Nabih was CEO of EmpowerSun, a Swiss based photovoltaic energy consultancy, which he founded in 2009. In the meantime, he also co-founded ISWT a French solar developer company. From 2007-2009, as a Vice President, he accompanied Yingli Green Energy in its expansion from 95 MW to 600 MW with responsibility for the technology and manufacturing. He also participated in its IPO in New York (NYSE). As operations & process director at Applied Materials from 1997 to 2007 Nabih was responsible for installing turn-key semiconductor and photovoltaic production lines throughout the world, installing multiple GWs of production capacity across a ten year period.
He holds a PhD on materials sciences from the University Henri Poincaré, Nancy as well as an MBA, from the School of commerce of Nancy, (France).
Industrial Chemist degree at Oviedo University (Spain), Postgraduate Course in Environment Engineering and Management at Escuela de Organización Industrial (Madrid, Spain), Postgraduate Course in Health and Safety at Pontificia-Comillas University (Madrid, Spain) and Postgraduate Course in European Energy Manager at Fenercom-Escan (Madrid, Spain). He started his professional career in 1993 working as Independent Consultant for Governmental Entities, Financing Entities and Promotors.
Widely-experienced as an Independent Consultant for Financing Entities and Promotors, overall in Energy and Environmental “Project Financing”: wind farms, photovoltaic and solar thermoelectric power plants, waste treatment plants, desalination plants, bioethanol and biodiesel plants, biomass plants, etc.
Michelle is actively involved in policy and regulation on clean energy and is the only female board member of the Middle East Solar Industry Association and is a founding member of the MESIA Women in Solar Group. She is also on the policy strategy group of the Saudi Arabia Solar Industry Association, is the Deputy Chair of the Ruk Offshore Strategy Group in the UK, was the only lawyer on the UK Government’s Offshore Wind Cost Reduction Task Force, is on the Advisory Board of the Climate Bond Initiative, PLC Environmental and the CBI Climate Change Working Group (London).
Michelle is listed as “a leader in renewables” by ‘The Lawyer Hot 100 Lawyers 2012’ and has been named in 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 as being one of the top 100 people in global wind power by ‘A Word About Wind’.
She was recently awarded “Solar Woman of the Year for the Middle East” by MESIA in December 2013.
Peter has a Masters in Business Administration (Cambridge in the UK) and co-founded SolarBuyer, LLC in early 2011. Peter has a deep understanding of PV module manufacturing technologies and has audited more than 50 module manufacturers. Peter started his solar career in 1998 joining SOLON AG as an Export Manager. He worked on BIPV projects in Asia as well as various African off-grid markets. He also worked for one of SOLON’s subsidiaries as Deputy Managing Director. He joined Evergreen Solar in 2002 and built Evergreen’s marketing and sales activities in Europe from scratch. In 2005 Peter became EverQ’s first CEO. In this position he played an active in establishing the JV between Evergreen Solar, REC and Q-Cells. He was also promoted to lead Evergreen’s worldwide sales as VP of Global Sales until early 2011 when SolarBuyer was formed. Peter is a senior executive with significant experience in supply agreements cumulative more than $2.0 B in cumulative revenue.
Mr. Morrow supports Dar Solar’s work for clients in their evaluation, development, and financing of renewable energy, energy efficiency, combined heat and power, distributed
generation, and new technology investments. In his work as an expert consultant, Mr. Morrow helps clients develop and finance clean energy projects and commercialize new
technologies,. Areas of expertise includes: new technology market assessment; project development consulting for distributed and utility scale solar PV; distributed and
community wind; and renewable energy financing. Prior to consulting, Mr. Morrow was Director of Sales for Harvest the Wind Network, Director of Renewable Energy Development for Pace Global, and International Business Development Manager for SunEdison. His 15 plus years of product and project development experience includes 10 years at UTC Power developing distributed fuel cell and CHP products and managing the project development and installation of CHP technologies.

Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Montana State University.
Allan Baker has been involved in the financing of the energy sector for more than 25 years and during this time has advised on and/or arranged project financing for numerous projects around the world. These projects range from the acquisition of global portfolios of power assets to the financing of mini-hydro projects and has encompassed coal, gas, wind and solar projects. Most recently, Allan has been leading the bank’s involvement in the CCS field and has also been leading the development of the Middle East solar financing business, most recently acting as technical bank and agent for the Shams CSP financing in Abu Dhabi. Allan holds a first degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer.
Alan Elyousfi is business development manager at GTAT for Europe, the Middle East and India. He has over 13 years of experience in business development of technology and equipment in the solar and cryogenic space. Alan Elyousfi has a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Purdue University (USA) and a Master Degree in Technology Management from Saint Thomas University (USA).
As solar energy manager, Eng. Adil Alomair has managed to establish the solar energy sector as a new, growing and strategically diversified business division at AEC, the Advanced Electronics Company. In this position, Alomair has been in charge of studying and assessing many new business opportunities within the solar energy value chain, including manufacturing, M&A, investment & partnerships opportunities.
Eng. Adil, who holds a bachelors degree in Information Technology from the King Saud university, previously worked for King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology (“KACST”), where he developed the space & aeronautic strategic plan and created the super computer department to support KACST researchers with the latest technologies. Before that he worked at King Fahad Medical City (“KFMC”), where he created the IT department that serves the college of medicine students. Adding to this widely varied list, he has also worked for the Royal Saudi Airforce, where he was in charge of F-15 Aircraft engines systems.

Yaseen G. Alharbi joined the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) as a Scientific Researcher in 1985 and has worked in many different positions within the institute ever since. He has been solar village Site Manager, Solar Hydrogen Production pilot Plant Supervisor, Project Manager of solar thermal dishes and is currently still Project Director of the 12MW solar PV module assembly and production line KACSTsolar and Director of KACST Research Stations.
Mr. Alharbi holds a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Saud University, has published a number of scientific papers in the field of renewable energy and has registered patents to his name in the field of energy.
